How to screen your soil for lead
Soil 1 --next to the front, side, or back of house
Soil 2--garden or play area
Soil 3--another spot near the house or garage
- Scrape away any grass, stones, or mulch before collection
- Collect 3 spoonfuls of soil from each location
- Seal the bag and place the sample back in the lead screening kit
- Record the location of the sample on the form
