Marya Lieberman

Biography

Prof. Marya Lieberman studied at MIT, the University of Washington in Seattle, and Caltech, and joined the University of Notre Dame as a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in 1996. Her group specializes in creating simple technologies that help people solve problems outside a laboratory. Her group studies environmental lead and street drugs in the US, and substandard and falsified medicines globally.  She collaborates with the Marion County coroner's office, with harm reduction organizations like COIP and CRA in Chicago, and with researchers and pharmacists at AMPATH/MTRH in Eldoret, Kenya; the College of Medicine in Blantyre, Malawi, and Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.  For more information see https://padproject.nd.edu/
